Its not lost its just in a renamed profile directory, its a known bug with a few updates. Just restore the profile or set it up as default

"All your files are right where you've left them"

This is why I primarily use Linux.

    @BadFox

Every time I see ubuntu dual boot screen.......it saddens my heart.

@BadFox as if that was a regular thing that happens on Windows. I know Linux people feel the need to preach but that is a terrible argument

@Anirudh09 "This is why I use a *insert proprietary shithole OS* instead" ;)

This time there was only one such comment so it must be that was what @dontbeevil meant.

    Okay cool..

This the reason god is telling you to switch to Linux. :p

@dontbeevil did you even read the comments?

@musician well, it sort of is a thing that happens on windows quite a lot. I also seem to think that stability and not expecting your OS to boot to that is sort of the point of a good OS.

I think it's a good argument for using one OS over another. I think this might actually be my first "preach" about Linux.

Yeah, excuse me if I want a product that works every day instead of a product that works most days but can decide not to a random day.

(For arguments sake, I mean a stable distro like Ubuntu and not bleeding edge like Arch)

@OPM46 to each their own, I won't point out alternatives unless the initial product doesn't work correctly.

simply recover everything from your backup
  • 1
@dontbeevil for good reason I guess...
  • 2
@BadFox do you even use windows on a daily basis? Since window 10 I didn't have one single crash. 99.9% of the time its the user

@musician yup, I do. Windows 7 as well.
