Came home to this.... Wtf? So MS has begun resetting settings to their liking? This is messed up... Another item to the list of why I need to get a Linux partition going..

This is just going to speed up Linux adoption. I love it.

@Froot It indeed is.. It's ridiculous that MS is doing shit like this. I mean, do they really think people wouldn't notice their favourite browser asking them AGAIN to set it as default?

    @aaxa Yea. MS being MS

@aaxa Soooo... Did you just happen to install one of the "big" Updates?
  • 2
they do it when they detect some error, like Chrome/ff failing to load or crash or something.
    Also on big updates.

Just as a safety measure so you aren't left with an non-functioning browser.

@Qaldim AFAIK, it haven't installed any updates. This is the first time I've experienced this since the release of W10.

@sebastian Does it matter? You can always change the default to Edge if your preferred one isn't working.

@aaxa Microsoft knows better than you what's good for you before you know it.

@Qaldim Oh yeah, I completely forgot :/ sorry

This also happens for PDF defaults. Fucking MS.

@olezhka To me it's still a mystery why I should open PDFs with Edge.
However, I do enjoy the desperate sounding "Are you sure you don't want to give Edge a try".

@sebastian Having one as a default doesn't prevent you from using others. It should never automatically reset preferences. That's the whole point of preferences...

@jAsE Drastic times call for drastic measures. Am I right?

@insanealec that means the internal site is incorrectly coded. Back to drawing board and make sure it works in both edge and chrome.

@sebastian No way man. That MS can't figure out how to adhere to standards is not our problem (well, technically it is, since a lot of people still use their shit)

    The same goes for Safari
