Anyone can solve a lot of their problems by conversing with themselves one on one. Instead, they prefer a feed algorithm taking away their pain. But the nature of pain-relieving addictions is that they always intensify the pain in the long run.

While he is a full remote worker from a country where the average salary is 60% of my countries average salary.
While i'm certainly happy for his salary... My salary does not look correct compared to his -

I have a disagreement with my product owner (PO). Our team develops APIs in Mulesoft. We've got a release coming up and PO wants to release one of the APIs that has *some* working endpoints, but other endpoints in that same API have some open bugs.
Given that it's *unlikely* that those broken endpoints will be used, does it seem like good practice to release the API with known bugs in it to hit the deadline?
Understand that we're not just releasing the working endpoints. We're releasing all of it, bugs and all. PO's logic is that those broken endpoints won't be used therefore it's fine to send known bugs into production.

So we work in sprints of two weeks, we are two people in our team, in the beginning, we get assigned work and we continue to work on it the rest of the week, but sometimes my manager adds last minute tasks or makes it so whatever i was currently working on is not important anymore after i have already cut a long shot through it
But anyways i understand thats how work is, but what seems to happen now as well is that i finish all the work assigned to me early so i can work on any bug fixes that may arise from such features or old bugs, so then for example he gives task 1,2,3,4 to me and task 5,6,7,8 to my colleague which is ahead of me in rank but not my leader per se, she has more experience as she worked in another company for 7 months before and i never worked before , but then i finish my work by the middle of second week and he ends up adding some of her tasks to me and forces me to finish them fast as he thinks they are no big deal (hes also a non technical manager) so i am always racing to finish whatever he throws at me last minute and ending up getting the blame if i dont finish those last minute tasks, also if i take vacation and come back instead of giving me tasks to do he just gives me bugs of recent features that was done by my colleague while im on vacation
And when i confronted him about it that at any point in time whenever i check how much work is left for me and my colleague, she has less work than me, he said “i will skip all this because you got this wrong” and then continued to just ask me to do more things on the weekend day
Ofc so i tried to make sure i dont finish my work before time so he doesnt do that
But instead he ends up blaming me and saying i should have finished2 -
Never been so fit, so able, so sublime.

I just got the dna test.
I am the father. My daughter is now 3 weeks old.
No surprise there. I expected to be the father. I had no reason to distrust my wife. But, after all, I know my IT security.
The relationship I had with my daughter was transitive. I trusted my wife and my wife had my daughter, ergo I had a connection with my daughter. Or in clearer terms: from a => b and b => c follows a => c.
The problem I was thinking about: What if I will stop trusting my wife in the future. At some point in the future... Something might happen. And I would stand there and wonder how long it went on. Maybe a month? Or before my daughter's birth? Maybe more than 9 month before my daughter. Would I be able to hide it from my daughter or would she notice...
If anything ever happens now, I know it has nothing to do with my daughter...
That's the same reason why we use end2end encryption. Sure, we have to trust that the application provided is not manipulated. But we only have to trust today. If it lands on their severs, we have to trust until the end of eternity.
I don't need any trust right now. And I am fucking happy about it.4 -

Damn. I just noticed im getting kinda fat. My belly is bigger than before in 2020 when i used to exercise almost daily. I either need to eat less or shit more, to get the weight out. Fuck. I must start working out. But its hard to do when its cold. I only workout during summer outside. Urghv22

TIL that in iOS, when you select text with double tap, it usually selects one word, but if that word is a part of a full name, it will select the full name. For example, tapping on “react” in “react sucks” will only select “react”, but tapping on “Howard” in “Howard Lovecraft” will select the entire thing.

Story time...of how HR actually did its job of taking care of employees.
So, I started at this new gig on December, the boss was all sunshine and promise (big red flag now to think back). Then as time passed, he started seeming...off. To a point I considered quitting my boss just after 2 months of working for him.
Then one morning we had a project meeting. He started verbally abusing me, calling me incompetent, bashing my work (of which he knew ~nothing, his experience 30 years back). Earlier in the week he demanded me to make a presentation which he in this meeting told is complete bullshit without actually reading any of it. He told me 'I am your boss, you do exactly as I say' when I told him something is technologically impossible in the situation we're in. He *actually* told me to break the law with data protection...
This was like wtf dude. That's not how you manage people. So, I made an HR ticket about his behaviour. They were *shocked* and escalated the matter.
Long story short: he was a bully, he's getting fired, my team has a new manager. My workplace actually appreciates my expertise.
Bad thing in this is, now I actually need to continue doing my job. ;_;8 -
