lol. poor intern. Better explain each logic why not that way.,

Remember the quote - teach a man to fish ?

I suggest 'pair programming' with the trainee. You can still delete all code, but make him/her do it. *evil laugh*

Kidding. They'll learn from you in the process and all of you benefit in the long run.. 😊

Or you could explain their code to them and help to make them a better programmer.

You were a new coder too at some point, no need to feel superior.

@liveCoder Was that really you trying to ""flirt""? (idk a better word in english)
  • 2
@henseiderv i don't think he can be held accountable for his comment. look at how his eye is twitching.. must be stressed or smthn.. :P

@dasheck you beat me to it. 😂

Pair with them and teach them why their code is hot garbage. You might learn a thing for two from them!

    Nice funny rant....

@liveCoder except your dignity... 😛 just a hunch, but this isn't exactly a dating site, so I doubt people come here to be flirted with. Best to have some tact.

@liveCoder Yes, you do. Guys like you make girls feel unsafe everywhere on the internet. You get nothing positive from this kind of behavior, they probably hear that 20x a day online when it's not worse. There are places for that, like a pub or tinder. I'd like to ask you to make a simple reflection and avoid these kinds of things. Thanks for understanding, man. : )

@henseiderv whoa dude, A+ response. I wasn't able to put it into words like you did, but this is exactly what I was feeling. 😊
  • 5
@henseiderv thank you.. i probably would've described it as uneasy, rather than unsafe.. mix in slight annoyance, heavy dose of cringe and top it off with *roll eyes". 🙂

everyone, this is a really cool place and we're all devs here. let's not drag gender into this and make it awkward.. that's not what the avatars are for, i'm sure.

@arminiae Gender's important! I personally believe that it's cool if gender comes up in discussions in an appropriate way, because it is a major lens that colors our experiences in IT and life as a whole. What's not cool is wantonly hitting on women in tech just because they're there, or making generalizations about members of a gender.

@sifton that's how it should be. i would like to look at it that way. 🙂
  • 4
@liveCoder "white knight skills" here meaning "decency and respect"? it's upsetting that you chose to hurl petty insults instead of learning something from this experience...
  • 2
We seriously need some measures to keep this community clean and unoffensive....
  • 5
@playmast3r I'm actually really please by how the community spoke up here via replies and downvotes to counter the bad behavior, but I think something like reply/rant hiding after receiving a certain negative score would be useful.
  • 3
@sifton I did down vote and report comment. Let's see how @dfox will handle this case on his home turf....

Sorry about that. I'll give @liveCoder one warning, next time will be account deletion.
