Before Git how did you save your code and track your changes?

Team Coherence, then Microsoft TFS, then Azure DevOps (which is technically still TFS), now migrating to Azure Git.

Before that, it was a shared network drive. Need to roll back or find a previous version? You contacted the network admins to pull the backup tapes. Yep, tapes.

Before git there was SVN.
And before SVN there was CVS.

Now another question: With Git are you making backups as well? So that Git is not a single point of failure.

Local drive folders with time stamps / versions. It was truly revolutionary at the time.
