To the people who so blindly hate apple: Name my other choices...

Winblows is a bloated system with no real package manager, i can't stop their endless updates, it gets viruses so easily, that you have to install an antivirus, and i hate their flat design, and linux is for haX0r kids who wanna look cool, it's just not practical for personal use.

Seems like you have missed that OSX stored passwords in plaintext in logs?
Dont forget how fucking BAD OSX is with SSD drives, because it spams plist files all over.

I don't like Linux that much, but it's definitely practical for personal use.

Have an old ass Toshiba and put Mint on it. Mainly use it as a streaming device, and it works better than when it had Win8 on it.

I can get into a real argument about the pro's and con's of a Windows server vs a Linux Server, but for the client it really just depends on your needs. I use Linux because I need a seamless environment between interacting with my SQL databases and my dev environment. Mac's do design better than their counterparts and Windows is a good general purpose OS.

@CoffeeNcode ubuntu ? really ? it's so resource hungry, it heats up my laptop even more than windows.

The problem with linux is that no one so far cared enough to make a decent performant fully-featured distro(except android), because everyone is trying to make his thing, this is the problem with open source, there is no captain for the ship, resulting in an absolute freedom...to create absolute garbage. i lived in this world long enough to understand that i can't get quality for free. if it's good, it costs money.

Not true. Solus, Ubuntu Mate, Xubuntu, and elementaryOS are all practical, well designed, and don't use a lot of resources. On top of that Linux Mint with Cinnamon may use a little bit more RAM on boot than the other four I mentioned, but it has the good things of Windows (the familiar start menu) with the god-tier settings menu that Apple has (and in my opinion is better).

I don't hate on Mac but their prices are insane. If they ever start selling their stuff for a reasonable price I'd definitely buy.

Lol I've used Windows for 15 years now. Never had to deal with viruses on my PC. It depends on your browsing habits and what safety precautions you take. I don't even have an anti-virus, or find the need to use one.
And you can install everything you need, you just gotta Google a little bit.
