    MS already dropped support for it, no?
  • 2
    @mundo03 I don't think so, they released latest version of IE11 2months back.
    And besides client still except that we use latest technology and it should support IE9 as well -_-

    @FrodoSwaggins nahh, I prefer windows for gaming, visual code for development.
  • 2
    If it'll be blocked then how will you download chrome?
  • 2
    @mundo03 not yet they dropped xp bot IE

    @taosif7 Microsoft edge. At least supports html5.

    Y?
    It had a time !
    Still the browser supporting largest number of webpages!

    It's not been developed for long time!
    Thats it

    @FrodoSwaggins
    Lol
    U won't have windows precision drivers!
    All gamers are dead then
  • 2
    @oztek vscode is available for both mac and linux. Visual studio itself is available on mac only. Gaming industry is trying to move away from windows monopoly, hope they can be successful.
  • 3
    @illegaldisease
    Nope, they can't
    See gaming on Mac looses ur audience! Very less users compared to windows

    Linux drivers are quite few, I know they are building it now, but will take time!
    Too much distro, support can't be extended
    And users are still less.

    Windows users are lot, one build is enough, easy support, etc.. too much lib are already written..

    As a game dev company, why will I spend more and take trouble, so I go with windows
  • 3
    @illegaldisease there will still be more users who are more convinient with windows rather than linux,
  • 2
    @devTea Of course, that is exactly what i meant by monopoly. Choosing to stay on Windows is completely ok, but being forced to use Windows is a different story.

    Currently, a non tech person who wants to play games on a computer has no choice but to setup Windows and play his/her games in it. There is no alternative that just works.

    @Nawap Not even Valve goes into hassle of supporting every distro because there is no need to. Just support Ubuntu alone and there will be little to none minor issues which community will fix ASAP, i promise.

    @dontbeevil Are you talking about Windows phone ? If yes, i felt the same. But Windows phone was very young and apps needed time to deploy to it. In the end, it killed itself.

    If you are talking about Windows OS, depends 99.99% to the app because you are comparing two different concepts.

    @dontbeevil I liked Windows phone too, it was really stable and convenient. What done is done :(

    Where do i sign this petition?
  • 1
    @dontbeevil there will always be few people who can not accept the change, so maybe wait for them to die???

    @FrodoSwaggins I'm not good with console gaming. apart from that, games I play releases for windows only. For development I tried notepad++, netbeans, visual studio and few more whic I don't remember.
    I like visual code for many cool 3rd party library supports lile tslinting, git blame auto align etc.
    Let me know which IDE you use and why? I'll surely try that
  • 1
    @dontbeevil pls don't be evil. It has to die one day. I'll wait for that day.

    @FrodoSwaggins one correction frado.
    I said I like Visual code not studio. Visual studio eats up so much ram so i don't like it. And about 3rd party library,I think it's good to have 3rd party library coz they will be focusing on 1 specific functionality so they will try to make it as good as possible.
    I have tried vim as well and I prefer VScode our Vim. Never tried emacs though, will surely try that once I start working on new project :)

    @FrodoSwaggins VS code extensions.
  • 1
    @dontbeevil I thought vim is general purpose editor. I have done very less android development and that also in netbeans :p

    @FrodoSwaggins okay, so how exactly vim helped you in saving your time?
