So I'm 17, I go to a vocational school and I'm in a computer IT and networking class as a junior. We have learned programming in HTML and CSS and whenever I'm programming I'm having the most fun, so I am teaching myself C++! I don't really feel welcome due to my age but I hope all of you can help me in the future!

If you don't talk about your age on the Internet, it doesn't become a factor.

Welcome to devRant. Ask lots of questions!

Damn I wish a started a few years earlier. I'm almost 18 now and started with 16. Feels like it would had been really useful to start with 12 or something like that...

FFS guys stop worrying about age! I'm 54 and relearning after an 11 year gap due to my daughter being critically injured in an RTA.

I was running a web agency before. I come back and there's this new chap called Ruby on the block whose got two mates called Vagrant and Docker but they are all related to Cloud - so you think you've got problems?!

I was hosting on Dedicated servers, now I spin one up and drop them like stones on Linode and I'm root!

    Age is no barrier!!!!

Made my first website at 33, age is nothing.

As long as you're proficient in your craft, age will never matter. It's all about technique, experience and attitude, unless you're Donald trump. Apparently to run the US all appropriate criteria are cast aside. At least he's technologically simple minded. Wouldn't want him fucking up our precious craft. Or maybe it's his ignorance that is the true worry.
