Seriously, what is up with all these new BLOATED webapps? Almost 250MB eaten up before I write a single note -- really?? Compare that with KeyNote (written in Delphi) loaded with thousands of notes.

I agree and honestly I don’t even get why so many new notes apps are invented nowadays. We already have plenty, it would be better to see more optimisation (leaving Electron and other heavy shit would be an awesome first step) on existing ones.

Electron is shit and should be dumped and buried forever. It used chromium under the hood and each install of electron app means you have installed a separate chrome browser and a separate nodejs into your system.

WhatsApp web alone took 3 GBs of my SSD space. I bet it will only takes < 300 MB if they rewrite it using C# and compile it into real native app.

Webapps sucks, but at the same time many of the lean apps we love are showing their age (like KeyNote). I would love to see a lightweight notes app with the functionality of Obsidian written in Rust.

@dontbeevil I'm still on Office 2003. I'd have to check my install CD-ROMs to see whether OneNote was around then lol.

@dontbeevil I have heard about it's UWP version. But I haven't tried it until now. It's hard to trust it since it's still "Beta" even though it has been released since 2021.
