I usually do, but then again I travel alone a bunch (since my gf lives in a different country so most of the time I travel to her) and with taking my laptop I can watch movies or shows on the plane and stuff

Or work on private projects ofc ;)

In my case it's mostly like this: when i take the thing with me i won't touch it the whole trip (basically carrying dead weight around 😂) and when i don't i'll regret it the very first day

Of course you do! What are you going to do on your vacations without your laptop? Hahaha

    Nederlanders, Nederlanders everywhere.

@Ryhazerus: they are all around the world. I even ran into them when I was somewhere in Siberia 😃

    don't :D
but buy a small bluetooth keyboard for your phone.

I would take a tablet with me. Maybe with a keyboard, then you can provision a remote machine if you want one, watch movies on the plane easily and have very little compromise.

It wouldn't be a proper holiday if you did take it. I'd leave it at home to let the mind unravel, come back to work and find myself a lot more productive.

@beningreenham: well of course i would use it for cool pet projects, not for work, because of the 'mind unravelling' i get cool ideas

Never a question for me. I always bring my laptop everywhere, *especially* on holidays. Just to get that lines of code while on the plane/car and a few more on the hotel's lobby. 😀

I always pack the laptop first

    That depends

If you are worried about doing too much work, take your computer but NOT your charger. This will make you use it judiciously.

I'm in the corner, where I have to decide which and how many laptops I bring... 😜
