    @Torbuntu Couldn’t say it better.

    @Torbuntu I don't think C# is the best language in the history of humanity. I do enjoy programming in c# and triggering ms haters.

    As a few have already said it depends on your perspective, each have their own strengths and weaknesses.

    Java for example was built for the Web and dominated backend for a long time.

    Arguably thanks to node javascript has become the most versatile language on the planet.

    Basically none of them would be possible without c or cpp.

    Most systems are held together with a bit of bubblegum, hope and usually a few perl or python scripts.

    It's a bit of a stretch me thinks to say c# is the best.

    It is definitely the best language when the list of languages include, just C#. 😂

    pt_BR is the fucking best.

    Well, depends on how the OP defined "best", most of the answers have outlined the general impact of said language.

    In terms of impact, definately C or HTML.
    Utility, probably javascript these days.

    The OP is probably talking about his general impression of working with C# and possibly Visual Studio. I personally like working on python.

    @theuser HTML is not a programming language D:

    Otherwise, yeah I'd agree with Torbuntu saying C# is Java MS edition, and going for C for the huge impact and widespread support.

    @Torbuntu same, c is the best, everything considered. It might not be the best for a given task, but you can be sure that it accomplishes said task no matter what it is.

    Java is similar except it needs more devent hardware to run (dont talk about embedded java, even i hate that shit)

    after that id say probably python or js (but fuck js)

    also there is just no reason to choose c# over java, they do the exact same thing, but java is multiplatform and c# is not

    That’s what she said

    Well c# was made after the ms oracle court case where Ms lost. It was about Ms not implementing some functionality in their jvm and some other conflicts between then. So obviously they kinda copied Java. Well we're forced to c# at school and I don't really like it's apis with those names and such. My favorite language would be Java and c++ though.

    @freeme, that's what she said

    Oh shit, I forgot to free the girl

    I have always liked C#, but the only reason for that being that (minus some things) it really is Microsoft's version of Java. I see no reason why I should use a language that limits me to Microsoft as powerful as .NET is. And I know there is Mono, but I have never had success with mono, Java is most certainly not the best of languages either btw, but it is one of my favs and one of the ones that I know best, so....meh.

    @dkbhadeshiya please, 'yes' my other rant on c#

    Since its bound to a specific platform and not open, I can't agree with that.

    @CraftedCart I called it a language, not a programming language.
