I hate this era where it's illegal to ask questions
Europeans called snap elections and everybody is going far-right but I don't see mention of Israel so I got curious if this is a coup. but I can't even ask the damned question. questions are illegal11 -
I take the day off for a dr appointment cause I know shots make me tired and I won't work well after
But..... my coworker breaks a super important batch script by not reading a pop up note on a recent fix and (temporary) manually needed adjustment that pauses the script until you press a button
Then proceeds to skip all THREE places across the process to catch the problem caused by that not reading the note
And finally sees an issue AFTER final version is already sent out to clients....
So as soon as I get home I need to log on and rerun the process taking my time to read the check spots to make sure values and counts are correct and a new file is sent out
It feels great to take a chunk of my day off to cover a mistake of someone else's
Also should note I'm salaried. So I don't get paid extra for logging on and fixing this on my day off. Kinda sucks but whatever2 -
I was graced by my boss to attend a training for key users of a CRM system we resell, as a technical advisor.
The training is scheduled from 0915 - 1700
Can somebody come and kill me please?4 -
Had a SIM card for a week. Wasn't able to log into their service portal. Internet service was shitty as well. I recalled the contract.
Now they have sent me an email informing me of a bill which is stored in the online portal, and i have no idea for what this is, or how to find out.
I miss letters :-(
What is it that service providers wont send this stuff out as PDF?

ok I'll give it this,
because everything is so slow to write in rust and you have to be so methodical and specific,
I think it's giving me discipline
so it's training me to be less lazy over time,
which is actually something I genuinely wanted,
so it's kind of exciting
granted it still sucks that I have to wait on myself to gain the fortitude to be able to write the old stuff I used to, but if I build discipline / fortitude then it wouldn't matter how big a project was, I could maintain making it indefinitely because I'm not sputtering on effectively "junk food fuel" to power myself but managed to refine fuel that can stick for the long haul
my stupid refinery just has to get its shit together first, which is what all the rust training is slowly doing1 -
Meat is good. Charred meat though… the smell of it makes my teeth subjectively bigger, to the point where they don't fit in my mouth. Psychosomatic illusion, yes, but saliva is dripping.2

MS Teams sending an email to inform me about people which "are trying to reach me", one hour after I already talked with those people via Teams chat.

Running npx google-artifactregistry-auth in three simple steps:
1. Run npx google-artifactregistry-auth
2. Interrupt the process because it will inevitably get stuck on retrieving credentials
3. Run npx google-artifactregistry-auth
Then to install packages you need just 3 simple steps!
1. Run npm i
2. Interrupt when it gets stuck on reify
3. Run npm i3 -
I played around with Git Rebase today to learn a bit about it, and it was fun, but in the process I completely obscured my process and erased a commit that has a published artifact associated with it. What remains is a few incremental preparation commits hoisted up from today's cleanup, then a pair of commits on two projects both of which only compile against the version of the other repo built from the other commit.6

Little known fact about MS Intune: the reason it's so fucking slow is that when you tell it to deploy an app to a group of machines, a little goblin emerges from his slumber in the basement, copies the app onto a stack of floppies, and gets a taxi to each location to install it.
It's surprisingly hard to hail a taxi when you're a 10-inch tall homunculus carrying a suspiciously large backpack.
The little bastard has only just finished the first device, and it's lunchtime now so that's the last we'll see of him all day. -
My company just installed app-operated locks in all doors. Let's say that I have a hard time taking security policies now.6

Tanya died the first, in the seventies. My home that, at that point, was nothing but an Escher-escue collection of ladders with Australian backpack CCTV cameras hanging from the walls, was below their flat. First death — seventies, then eighty-four, the ninety-one, and then yesterday. All that time, without any way of exiting the apartment, they marinated in corpse juice.
It finally started dripping from the ceiling yesterday.
Steel tapes weren't a good remedy.4 -
