My classmate and I stumbled into the idea of third wave programming, like the waves of feminism but coding.
The first is functional programming, the second is object oriented programming, and the third is making everything in electron and bundling an entire chrome in your application. -

I GOT THE GRANT!
My uni does this thing where it throws money at undergrads if you sweet talk them into thinking you have an interesting summer project, I'm getting paid to play with VR things over the summer!2 -
Asking for help.
It's 100% a pride thing, I feel like I should be able to be presented with a topic or problem and be able to completely understand it and work with it in a reasonable period of time.
But that's not how it works out, and I'll bash my head against a wall for far longer than I would've had I just asked someone more knowledgeable about the topic for assitance. And it's frustrating and a waste of time but I do it anyway.
Finding people who are experts on the thing you're doing and conveying the context of the problem can be a whole thing in and of itself sometimes too, which doesn't help3 -
Stop giving me pdfs, stop giving me word documents, stop giving me paper handouts. Just give me a README with the assignment on it that I can throw into a git repo where everything else I hand back to you is going to end up anyway.
It doesn't even have to be markdown'ed to death! I mean, that's a plus, and then you could, you know, have your example code's syntax lit up properly among other things. But a text file is all I really needed!1
