In my last rant, I complained about our rebranding document that was very much lacking... Their listed colours are slightly different than the colours used in their logo...
How do they fuck up copy pasting the colour values. And yes, it was meant to be the same.1 -
not to brag but im very handsome, if i was a girl I'd fuck myself every single day and cry myself to sleep if i as a girl chose the (wrong) option which is not to sleep with me, realizing what kind of fatal irreversible mistake i made1

love it when people rage quit when you fix the tech debt problem they created because they think the fix is too stupid 🤣BYEEEEE!1

Site usage has dropped off a cliff since this started, I'm seeing comments every other day about something else breaking, or which devRant alternatives is best. Seen as I'm never going to have enough ++ I've had to resort to inspecting the avatar builder and fiddling around with the image source to add all the stuff I want.
Also, why is there no tabby coloured cat option?15 -
Linkedin is known from displaying invasive corporate advertisements like join our cloud, and other picture title shit.
But it got worse.
From January I am invaded by contribute to this article crap and get some badge. Powered by some artificial intelligence shit.
From about a month or so I am seeing lots of suggestions on linkedin wall that look like content written by bots, and the posts are from real people, well morons from FAANG started showing up with their generated spam but that’s not all.
This week I started getting job offers that look like are written by chatgpt and not a real people. When I reply to this offer that it looks like it’s not from real person I am ghosted.
Those job offers are like 3 a day and I those are not only contacts but mostly a direct messages from premium account that costs 1000$ per month or more.
I feel like I’m in real world matrix.
But that’s not all.
I see lots of recriuters from my contact list are getting fired and looking for new job.
But that’s not all bitches !!!
I sometimes reply to some CEO and they delete posts and invite me to contacts just to ghost me.
I feel so disconnected I started to think all those people are all only bots and I am last living - real person that is not using AI to write something.
I think microsoft finally managed to kill this cash cow with their obsession about AI. Corporate shit is killing every good platform.
Hope for fediverse to take off with some news websites thinking about integration with fediverse.
Help me obi P2P nobi you’re my last torrent hope.
If p2p social networks won’t take off now it would be dead end.8 -
Been away for sometime. What is with the spam in every second post? Feels like the return of Nigerian prince.5

I've never felt that great: just finished school, get my first job, get drunk with friend. Hope it will not end too soon.2

Today I am proud,
because I kept going.
I didn’t give up,
because I needed to reach it.
My finger moved fast,
tapped so fast and I felt it closing in.
So close… oh so close.
It was getting hot.
My vision started to blur,
and yet I could not stop.
I hit the key one more time,
and found my bloody command.2 -
I found a use for Excel. It essentially cures me of low blood pressure.
P.S: Anything against high blood pressure?9 -

No, actually, all of the above is invalid if you've gotta do it in typescript3 -
One unfortunate thing I have realized about being a human is that socialization is necessary in order to excel in the long term9

What is the purpose of physical training? To resist the natural decay of our bodies in the face of nature.
What is the purpose of mental training? To resist forces that seek to influence us for their personal gain.
What is the purpose of emotional training? To resist the persuasive manipulations of those who would lead us astray.8 -
It's refreshing yet odd when you go from a team with loads of meetings (mostly stand-ups and of that Scrum stuff) to one with only 2 weekly meetings.2

Linux was created by Microsoft in 1998, in response to a request from the Nigerian ministry of education for an easy-to-use graphical desktop environment for beginners. It's named after Linus Todger, a well-known member of the dogging community in Porthmadog who bought one of the first copies and took it to bed for a week.
From a comment of @donkulator3 -
I think it's kinda cool that almost all of my work _could_ be done within a browser (IDE, docker, etc, etc..)
I'm happy as I am but I like the option5 -
To anyone who likes to solve problems, here's one:
How can I (m29) get the idea into my boss' thick skull (m50), that the crisis meeting he had with the client could be averted by just using what every other software development company uses (git), without being explained what the difference between a .java and .class file is?9 -
The reason I don't use Linux on my desktop is its hobby of saying “fuck off” spontaneously and without warning when I need it the most.
A designer friend shares his After Effects project and asks to export that to Lottie? Fuck off.
Your Android phone decided to brick itself with an OTA update (yep, happened to me, thanks Sony), and you need to unbrick it? Fuck off!
A musician friend wants to connect his audio card (that of course has no Linux drivers) and record some bass riffs? Tell him to fuck right off mate.
Your boss suddenly asks you to check an MS Access file for him as he's en route to an important meeting? Yep, you guessed it — fuck off.
Your government now requires your tax papers to have digital signatures? Fuck off, it only works for Mac and Windows.
Want to connect an old digital camera? Would you please fuck off?
I know I'm gonna get heat from Linux fanboys, especially on this platform. After all, a designer should know how to export to Lottie if he's a real designer, you should've bought a better phone, your friend should've had his laptop with him, your boss should've used open source tools instead of MS Access… Wait, he was tasked that from above? Then his boss should've used open source tools! Government mandates digital signatures? Well, tell them to port that to Linux! Start a riot! Get a better government! Move to a better country! Digital cameras? Who uses them in 2024, especially old ones! Are you some kind of hipster?
I know preparing for corner cases is bona fide premature optimization, but that's the whole point — with Mac or Windows, you don't have to prepare at all. You always have options. With Linux, your number one option is to have Windows handy if need be.
Linux works perfectly on my server, but not on my laptop.24 -
I made a random PowerPoint presentation about Unix, BSD and Linux.
Check it here : https://bit.ly/unix-homework
Please, correct it, it's a homewrok.8 -
asked to estimate size of ticket about adding test data, but no details about what test cases or what kind of data

Couldn't add a Flex 1U psu in this website.2 -
I actually found a use for Outlook's scummy default behaviour to open links in Edge and not the default browser.
On my company laptop I mainly use Librewolf because it allows installing plug-ins despite group policy. I only use Edge for Azure DevOps and company portals because MS SSO doesn't work with Librewolf for some reason.
Because Outlook disregards the OS settings and uses Edge by default, MS software forms a sort of bubble, and I can freely set Librewolf as my default browser.8 -
You know, having covid [ie self-isolation] has its plus side. I am now getting a lot more alone-time!2
